Travel and Accomodation

How to get there

The IWH is very conveniently reached by train. The closest train station is "Heidelberg-Altstadt", from where you can reach the IWH in a 3-5 minute walk. To find an appropriate connection you can consult bahn.de.  

If you book your ticket through a different Web-site like sncf.com or simbad, you should use "Heidelberg HBF" as destination. From there you best take a train S-Bahn that stops at "Heidelberg-Altstadt":

• S1 in the direction of "Osterburken"
• S2 in the direction of "Eberbach" (or "Mosbach")
• S5 in the direction of "Eppingen"

Another possibility is to book until "Mannheim HBF" and buy an S-Bahn ticket there. The S-Bahn connects Mannheim to Heidelberg-Altstadt approximately every 30 minutes in a trip of 20 minutes. From "Mannheim HBF" you can take:

• S1 in the direction of "Osterburken"
• S2 in the direction of "Eberbach" (or "Mosbach")
